What does WSA look for in Applicants for Membership?
Mainly what we require to join WSA is proven experience in Freight Forwarding .We want companies who are specialized in handling cargo and active in their local markets for this business. A good candidate for WSA is shipping or Logistics Company or Freight Forwarding company that would have dedicated staff or departments devoted to marketing and handling international cargo.
How do you qualify “Trusted and professional global freight forwarding partners” within WSA?
Each prospective member company is required to submit strong commercial references to satisfy the requirements of the management of WSA. It is imperative for applicants to prove expertise in local markets and demonstrate having a positive reputation with other agents and carriers, as well as that the company leadership is professional and has integrity in order to be enrolled.
Are your members’ details made public and can non-members gain access to WSA member’s details?
The members area is only accessible for members, however if you do have any questions about specific members in certain markets the WSA team will be happy to advise on the current market status.
How many members per country?
WSA allows 3 members in each country per Port Sea/Air except for India, China, and USA
Is it mandatory to attend the Annual Conference?
It is mandatory to attend the WSA Annual Conference, as meeting with the members will only yield better long term results by meeting face to face. Failure to attend more than 2 consecutive conferences will leave your renewal under scrutiny from the WSA management.
Can I access the members’ directory?

Once becoming a member, WSA will enroll its members to the payment protection program. -First & second year, member is covered by USD 10000 year -Third year, payment protection to be upgraded with USD 20000 - Fifth year payment protection to be upgraded with USD 50000

What should I remember when filling out the Application for Membership?
While filling the application form online please provide the references we request. These references should be overseas agents who have worked with you. Once we receive your application, the administration will personally follow up on the references. Should the reference give you good recommendations and the information regarding your Organization background is verifiable, membership will be offered. Once an official notification has been sent to you about acceptance, our accounting department will send the membership invoice to you. On receipt of payment, we will add you to the directory and officially announce you to all members.
What will WSA ask for your References?
We will ask such question pertaining directly to your operational expertise, sales abilities, business communication practices and your company’s financial stability. We will also inquire whether your references have any other information, either positive or negative, which would be helpful in making a final decision regarding your ultimate acceptance as a member of WSA.
